Tighten A Loose Keycap Stem

A keycap that fits loosely on a switch stem may not stay in place. Seat the keycap stem over the adjuster’s recessed end and press it in gradually. The recess narrows toward the inside, reducing the keycap stem opening for a closer fit. Work in small steps so the fit does not become too tight.

Widen A Tight Keycap Stem

If a keycap grips a switch stem too tightly, align its cross-shaped opening with the adjuster’s cross-shaped tip. Press the keycap onto the tip gradually to widen the opening and make the fit easier to manage. Avoid forcing it, since too much pressure can damage the keycap stem.

  • Cherry Profile – Lower height, comfortable for long typing sessions
  • OEM Profile – Slightly taller, very common on prebuilt keyboards
  • MOA Profile – Uniform height, rounded shape, cute and soft typing feel

Choosing a profile is mostly about personal preference.

  • Shine-through: Yes → Legends allow RGB light to pass through
  • Shine-through: No → Legends are solid (better color accuracy, no light bleed)
